vista mc playback error restricted content

VISTA MC PLAYBACK ERROR: RESTRICTED CONTENT

Ok guys, I am running Vista Beta 2 and in the media center portion whenever I start watching my premium channels I get that annoying playback error that asks to renew access to the DRM content. I know this was an issue with MCE pre-rollup 2 days. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896035 Is there a fix for this that anyone knows?

There isn't anything as yet - I'll do a bit of research and try and get back to you :o)

Now it is no longer giving the DRM error, instead it is saying that it is Restricted content and that access to my computer has not been allowed by the cable provider. I doubt that calling the cable company would help at all. Oh well not a big deal right now as I can plug in my other drive to use MCE 05. I just really hope they fix this. In further research I have read that it is an issue with the introduction of the CableCARD. I dont really like that option and would suggest that they leave the option to run Vista's MC how current MCE users are.

Thanks.

DVI out to DVI can cause this. Use a DVI to VGA adapter to a VGA port, or use svid, or usea breakout cable DVI to component. Basically digital is broken and you need to use analog.

That is not really an option for me, both my video cards are DVI only and I am using my DVI monitor for viewing. I read that this might have something to do with the actuall coding of the Media Center in Vista. Basically they were coding the ROllup2 for MCE 05 at the same time they were coding the MC in Vista, unfortunately they were using the code of MCE pre rollup2 so now we have the issues that MCE2005 had before Rollup2.

I am experiencing this "restricted content" too.
To reassure all of you: I am using an ATI TV wonder elite card on a P4 with 1 Gb of RAM, Now running my Vista Beta 2. (never had a single issue when running MCE 2005 rollup 2). There is no DVI input on my card so thats not an issue. I have tried all three other typed of input (RCA, Coax and S-Video) all of these option yeild the same "restricted content" after a minute or two of air play. One issue I am seeing that I did not see mentioned here is that the content is displayed in black and white before it locks me out.
The Media Center was really the only resaon I beta'ed Vista so this has stopped me dead in my tracks. I hope I have a fix soon, otherwise this was pointless.

I'm now getting this error as well on my Vista install.
2 days ago the complete MCE system stopped working and whenever you would attempt to play video you'd get the decoder error. Now i don't even recall installing a decoder when I first put on this version of Vista so what's up with this as well? So now when i do a fresh install all over I get this restricted error on all my premium channels. Then I search on here for a few hours with no results and plenty of others having the same problem. My vista purchase delay grows more each problem fellas.

oh yes I also wanted to mention all the problems experienced on the main Vista PC can be bypassed via the 360, so please MS give us a fix here and soon.

The video decoders in Vista RC1 and previous have all expired. They forgot to mention that, even though the OS will work until after Vista's official release, you just can't do anything with video.
